60. Elatocladus / Pityophyllum representatives of green grass

This example shows the green stem part of an ancient conifer. The leaf structure on the stem helps to identify the plant. Both taxa were widespread in the Mesozoic era (Late Triassic - Erkan Cretaceous) and became extinct in the middle of the Cretaceous period (237 - 100 million years).
