10 faculties, 10 students, 1 question from NSU - SURVEY

The choice of higher education is considered an important stage in the life of every young person. This choice shapes not only the future professional path, but also personal development, outlook and social environment. We conducted a survey among 10 students from 10 faculties of the university in order to find out how the students who chose Nakhchivan State University evaluate this decision and how it affects their lives. In the survey, students were asked, "How do you evaluate your decision to choose Nakhchivan State University and to what extent did this choice affect your life?" We were asked the question. The answers given reflect different aspects of student life, the experience they gain and the opportunities created by the university environment.

Jamila Babayeva: I am Jamila Babayeva, with 688.4 points, I was admitted to the "Computer engineering (teaching in English)" dual diploma specialty of NSU. I am a presidential pensioner. Also, our university provides additional scholarships to students who have scored more than 650 points. One of the reasons for choosing this specialty was the opportunity to study in Hungary created by NSU.

In addition to our own teachers, foreign professors also participate in our teaching process at NSU. Also, if needed, we conduct practical classes in the laboratory of the Innovation Center.

In addition to quality education, NSU has given me many things. I volunteer at the university, which allows me to develop my social skills in addition to my studies. Also, my speeches and presentations at the university help me express myself better and improve my speech. If I had the chance to choose again, I would definitely choose this university again.

Farid Ibrahimov: Choosing Nakhchivan State University, I think, was one of the most important and significant decisions of my life. I had the opportunity to visit the university during my school years and indeed the classrooms as well as the facilities provided to the students piqued my interest in this university. Here I am studying Translation (English-Azerbaijani languages) and during this period I have developed as a professional translator.

The opportunities created in the university are innumerable. In particular, it is a very valuable and motivating advantage to be able to communicate directly with the university administration, to be able to convey our suggestions and complaints to the rector whenever we want.

During my studies, I joined various student organizations, participated in events with them and participated in a number of competitions. Together with our team, we were awarded the first place in the Enactus National Championship in 2024, and the second place in 2025. In addition, we won the "Best Presentation" award during the 2024 Enactus World Championship in Kazakhstan.

Also, I acted as a translator in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections held in 2024. I became the champion of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in various intellectual games and represented Nakhchivan at the national level.

I think that if I were an applicant again and had the chance to choose again, I would still choose Nakhchivan State University without hesitation.

Yusif Mirzazade: I am a third-year student of NSU majoring in "Law". Although the 614 points I scored in the entrance exams to higher educational institutions gave me the opportunity to study law at any prestigious educational institution in the country, it was a completely conscious and strategic decision for me to choose Nakhchivan State University (NDU). This decision was based on NSU asserting itself as a science center with rich academic traditions and offering students not only theoretical knowledge, but also a wide intellectual ecosystem where they can realize their potential. From the first day of my admission to law major, the opportunities provided by the university became a platform for me to form my professional and social identity. At the moment, my satisfaction with this choice is measured by the efficiency of the path I took; so NSU became a place for me to become an international level researcher and to understand public responsibility as a young lawyer. My student years at the university consist of the unity of scientific creativity and social activity; in this sense, I divide my life into two parts, my university life and my pre-university life. Because NDU proved to me that the hard work is not fruitless, it is just waiting for the moment when it will be ripe.

Today, looking back, I see that NSU has trained me not only as a lawyer, but also as a person. If I had the opportunity to make the same choice again, I would choose the same path without hesitation, because it was the unique scientific and cultural environment offered by Nakhchivan State University that changed my life and turned it into a bright career trajectory.

Laman Bagirli: I am currently studying at Nakhchivan State University majoring in Economics (taught in English) and I was admitted to this major with 608 points. I had other options as I scored high but I chose NSU. Because what was important for me was not only the name of the university, but how I would develop myself here.

One of the main reasons why I chose this university is the opportunities created here for students. During my studies, I was not satisfied only with classes, but at the same time, I participated in various activities to develop myself. By participating in various events, projects and activities held within the university, I gained new knowledge and increased my self-confidence. These activities taught me to communicate more easily with people, to be responsible and to work in a team.

As someone who studies here, I see that the teachers support the students and work for their development. I am also studying and preparing myself for my future in this environment. Therefore, I think that choosing NSU was the right decision for me. And if I were an applicant again, I would definitely choose NDU again.

Aziz Valiyev: I am a 4th year student of the Faculty of History and Philology of Nakhchivan State University majoring in "History". Although my decision to choose Nakhchivan State University came with some hesitation at first, over time I realized that it was one of the best choices of my life. When making this decision, I was mainly attracted by living, studying and the dynamics of the university's development in recent years in the native environment.

After entering the university, I encountered unexpected opportunities. In particular, 100 people in Azerbaijan  established for the student  Being awarded the "Heydar Aliyev scholarship" was a great motivation for me, which I had no idea about before I was accepted. This success boosted my self-confidence and made me set bigger goals.

In addition to analytical thinking and such skills, studying history opened a new door to languages ​​that have been widely used in our history, such as Arabic and Persian. The friendships I made at the university and the intellectual environment I met played an important role in my personal development. It was a very pleasant experience for me to participate in various projects, to live an active student life, even from volunteering in the Student Youth Organization to the position of vice-chairman and faculty chairman. It has greatly improved my communication and leadership skills.

At the moment, I am quite satisfied with this choice and I can say that the years I spent here have become one of the most valuable and formative periods of my life. If I had the opportunity to choose again, I would still choose Nakhchivan State University with greater confidence.

Ravana Askerli: First of all, I should mention that choosing Nakhchivan State University was a turning point in my life. When I graduated with honors and scored 530 points in the entrance exam, I had one goal: to study Chemistry, which I studied with special interest, at a professional level. But the biggest question was about my choice.

A few minutes before the end of the specialty selection, I listened to my heart and changed my choice to Nakhchivan State University. Looking back today, I see how right this sudden but decisive decision was. Being an excellent student for 3 semesters in a row, being awarded prestigious student scholarships named after "Heydar Aliyev" and "Yusif Mammadaliyev" is not only a success for me, but also a proof of the value my university has given me.

Currently, I am trying to contribute to the development of our university as a member of the "Project management" chair of the Student Scientific Society. The confidence my teachers have in me and their recognition of me as a diligent student  makes me even more inspired and happy. I can say with certainty that if I had the chance to choose again, I would choose Nakhchivan State University without hesitation!

Turkish student Muhammed Hatip Koch: I am a second-year student of the Faculty of Medicine majoring in Stomatology. Choosing Nakhchivan State University was one of the best decisions I made in my life. One of the most important reasons for making this decision was the university's high academic level, as well as the opportunities it offers and the attention it shows to foreign students. Today, looking back, I can confidently say that I am completely satisfied with this choice. Because here I gained not only academic knowledge, but also life experience.

Currently, I am the chairman of the student organization at the university. This position gave me leadership skills, sense of responsibility and organizational ability. For example, I take an active role in organizing various events, solving problems of foreign students and supporting their adaptation to the university environment. These experiences have an important place in both my personal and professional development. My student life is quite active and efficient. By participating in events, seminars and social projects organized at the university, I expanded my circle and increased my self-confidence. Healthy relationships with my teachers and their support play a special role in my development.

Nakhchivan State University not only gave me knowledge related to my specialty, but also taught me to think differently, solve problems and communicate effectively with people.

I am especially grateful to the university management and their team. Their attentive, sincere and caring attitude motivates us even more.

If I had the opportunity to choose again, I would choose the same university again without a second thought.

Gulay Karimli: I was admitted to the "Mathematics Teaching" specialty of Nakhchivan State University with a high entrance score of 650.3. From the first year of my higher education, I closely participated in the public life of the university, volunteered in numerous projects, and at the same time, I carried out effective management activities as the vice-chairman and then the chairperson of the Student Youth Organization of the faculty. In the second academic year, I further improved my organizational and leadership skills.

In addition to my social activity, I completed the second semester of the first year with a "Nasreddin Tusi" scholarship with an average score of 93, and the first semester of the second year with a "Heydar Aliyev scholarship" with an average success rate of 96.6. Currently, I continue to contribute to the development of the university in both scientific and organizational fields. Considering the great support our university has given to my comprehensive development, I can say that NDU has always been the most correct and unchanging choice for me.

Guldana Hagverdiyeva: I am a second-year student of Nakhchivan State University majoring in "Teaching Technology". Since my school years, I had set myself the goal of continuing my higher education at this university.

When I first came to the university, I could not adapt quickly. New environment, new people, new demands - for a while everything felt a little overwhelming. But I knew one thing: I can't wait here, I have to develop myself. That feeling directed me to scientific activity. The research work that we performed together with my scientific supervisor in the 2024/2025 academic year through the Student Scientific Society (TEC) of Nakhchivan State University was awarded the second place in the faculty. It wasn't just an award for me, it was the real beginning of my seriousness in this work. Organization of the Student Scientific Society (TEC). I was awarded the 3rd place in the "Best Article" competition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev. And in January 2026 Evaluation of students' scientific activity in 2025 I was awarded the title of "Researcher Student of the Year".

 I want to say with great pride that It was a new stage for me that the article I submitted to the "Intelligent Systems and Cybersecurity" conference organized by the Baku Higher Oil School was evaluated and accepted by the reviewers. I was invited to that conference in the coming days.

Currently, I am the vice-chairman of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Pedagogy. This position has given me leadership, organizational and responsibility skills. In addition to this activity, I am a scholarship holder named after National Leader Heydar Aliyev of our faculty. This scholarship is both a great pride for me and a motivation to work harder. I always consider my own development as a priority. In the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies (Google, Microsoft, Vanderbilt University and University of Colorado) I have completed international certificate programs. Handicrafts made by me in connection with my specialty are displayed in exhibitions and are received with great appreciation.

Having said all this, one thing I must say is that Individual effort is not the only reason behind these achievements. It would not have been possible to reach these stages so confidently if it were not for the consistent attention, guidance and moral support shown by the faculty management and each of our teachers. I have felt the practical contribution of the faculty management at every step, from directing scientific research works to competition processes, from scholarship applications to conference preparation. This support gave me not only an opportunity, but also a sense of self-confidence. I am grateful for that.

Raiq Rajabli: In 2023, I was admitted to the "Instrumental performance" specialty of the Faculty of Arts of Nakhchivan State University. The reason I chose Nakhchivan State University is that my art, that is, music, is highly developed in this university. Choosing NDU has had an extremely positive impact on me and has led to growth. The university gave me experience and higher education. If I had the choice again, I would choose NDU again. My student life at NSU is very interesting. With the lessons held here, my education has improved even more. I strengthened my experience by participating in the "Jazz Night" concert held for the first time in Nakhchivan, and in addition to the concerts dedicated to Independence Day, National Music Day, Victory Day, etc. In 2025, I achieved more success by performing my first solo concert at a high level. As a result of these successes, I have won many thanks and awards from Nakhchivan State University.
