A conference dedicated to the 135th anniversary of Nazli Najafova, the founder of the first girls' school in Nakhchivan, was held at NSU.

On November 15, at Nakhchivan State University, a conference dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the founder of the first girls' school in Nakhchivan, deputy of the Central Executive Committee of Nakhchivan MSSR, Honored teacher of Nakhchivan MSSR, well-known educator Nazli Najafova was held.

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev said that the jubilee conference held is of great importance. The rector noted that the activities of the well-known educator Nazli Najafova led a meaningful life dedicated to the expansion of women's educational opportunities, the spread of the idea of enlightenment and the progress of society. Elbrus Isayev, who spoke about the bravery she showed for the enlightenment of her people and the fight against ignorance, like other victims of repression, Elbrus Isayev stressed the importance of introducing our intellectuals like Nazli Najafova as examples to students today. The rector noted that Nazlı Najafova's hard and trying paths were behind the love for the people, the nation and true patriotism during the period when women's freedom was limited. She is a great contributor to the development of the educational environment of Azerbaijan. The life and creativity of Nazli Najafova, who spared no effort in opening schools for girls in Yerevan and Nakhchivan, is a subject of extensive research for university students.

Minister of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Elkhan Najafov emphasized that women are one of the main factors determining the development of an educated society. The minister noted that there is a direct connection between the role and development of women and the development of education. According to Elkhan Najafov, supporting the education of girls is of great importance not only for individual development, but also for the progress of society as a whole. He emphasized that Najafova's steps in the direction of women's education and development in the autonomous republic during those difficult times were very important. The chairman of the committee noted that the investment in the education of young girls, both then and now, enables them to participate more actively in the socio-economic development of the society. Ramila Seyidova said that expansion of educational opportunities is a priority issue in terms of future prosperity and sustainable development of the country. His selfless activity serves as a textbook today. Touching on her scientific research, Sevinj Abbasova pointed out that she was also inspired by the life and creativity of Mrs. Nazli Najafova. His book "The history of the development of the women's movement in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" was presented to Jabbar Huseynli by the result of an enlightened intellectual.

After the event, the auditorium named after Nazli Najafova was opened at the Faculty of Pedagogy of Nakhchivan State University.
