A conference on "Return to Western Azerbaijan" was held

A conference on "Return to West Azerbaijan" was held at the Technical College of Nakhchivan State University dedicated to June 15 - National Liberation Day with the financial assistance of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The participants of the conference first got acquainted with the 100th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the exhibitions of historical monuments and weapons of Western Azerbaijan created in the college room and foyer. At the event, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs was commemorated with a minute's silence, and the National Anthem was played. The director of the college Asef Rushanov talked about the importance of the conference and the deportation policy implemented against our people.

At the conference, Chairman of the "For Dialogue and Development" Public Union and member of the board of the union, expert on the project, Gunay Hajiyeva, stated that the lands of Western Azerbaijan, which are our historical and cultural heritage, are our ancestral homeland. After the migration of Armenians to the South Caucasus, mass deportations, genocides, pressures from the north displaced our compatriots from these places. One of the most important issues ahead is to ensure the return to the lands of Western Azerbaijan, especially after the start of settlement processes in Karabakh, which was liberated from the enemy as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War. 

It was emphasized that the victorious, powerful state of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the President of the country constantly keeps the return of our countrymen to those lands on the agenda. It is in this context that the "Concept of Return to Western Azerbaijan", adopted to restore the right of all Azerbaijanis expelled from Western Azerbaijan to return to their homeland, is of great importance. The concept is a document that aims to ensure the peaceful, safe and dignified return of Azerbaijanis expelled from the territory of Armenia and defines the main directions of their activities in this field. As the head of state said, we want to return to our land peacefully, not with tanks and cannons. Under the leadership of the President of the country, in the past period, work was carried out in the direction of introducing the historical and cultural monuments and traditions of Western Azerbaijan to the world community, and returning our compatriots to their homeland peacefully. The "Return to Western Azerbaijan" festival-congress held in Nakhchivan last year was selected for its political and social importance. 

Mehpara Mammadova, teacher of the Accounting and Finance Chair of Nakhchivan State University, about the economic, conceptual and international importance of Zangezur corridor, Nakhchivan State under Nakhchivan State University Gulnar Niftaliyeva, a history teacher of the Technical College, talked about the history and culture of West Azerbaijan lands.
