A jubilee event was held at NSU, dedicated to the eminent literary critic scientist Huseyn Hashimli

A commemorative event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Professor Huseyn Hashimli, an eminent literary critic, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Professor Huseyn Hashimli, jointly organized by the Nakhchivan State University and the Nakhchivan Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held.

Before the event, the memory of Professor Huseyn Hashimli was honored, his grave was visited and flowers were laid.

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev, talking about Huseyn Hashimli's scientific-pedagogical activity at the university for more than 30 years, noted that the late scientist rendered great services in forming the scientific environment of NSU, training young personnel and strengthening the university's academic reputation. The rector emphasized that the academician, distinguished by his rich scientific heritage, high teaching qualities, principled position and commitment to science, served the state and society with dignity as a social and political figure. His activity as a deputy of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on several occasions was evaluated as an embodiment of the high respect shown to scientists. The Rector added that Huseyn Hashimli's awarding of the honorary title of "Honored Scientist of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and the "Commemorative Gold Medal for the 90th Anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev" is a clear example of the recognition of his services at the state level. Academician Ismayil Hajiyev, chairman of its department, full member of ANAS, shared his memories of the scientist in his speech and said that Huseyn Hashimli, a member of the Azerbaijan Union of Writers and Journalists, worked as the deputy director of scientific affairs at the academy for many years and made invaluable contributions to the training of young scientists.

Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology, Arif Agalarov, speaking about the scientific research activities of the deceased scientist, noted that as the author of 30 books and more than 350 scientific articles, many works of the scientist, who made important contributions to the development of Azerbaijani literary studies, were published in international scientific journals and brought prestige to the science of our country at the international level.

Other speakers - Associate Professor of "Journalism and Literature of Foreign Countries" Iman Jafarov, Head of the Literature Chair of ANAS Institute of Arts, Language and Literature Gasimov, the teacher of the chair and the professor's student Gulay Tahirli Huseyn Hashimli specially emphasized the ability to create a scientific school, the value he gave to his students, his loyalty to his colleagues and other high human qualities. It was noted that the scientific heritage created by the professor is one of the valuable sources cited by researchers even today.

The family members of the late scientist express their gratitudefor the attention and care shown to the participants of the event expressed.

At the end of the event, a video called "Huseyn Hashimli's life in memories" was shown, and then a commemorative photo was taken.
