A meeting was held at Nakhchivan State University on the topic "In the footsteps of the cultural heritage of Western Azerbaijan".

At the event, one of the well-known collectors of the Near and Middle East, specialist in antiques and Oriental carpets, Jordanian researcher Mohammad Al-Baghdadi, vice-rector for social affairs and public relations of the university Nicat Yagubov, teachers and students participated.

Vice-rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the University Nicat Yagubov gave an introductory speech and talked about the relations established between Nakhchivan State University and Jordan. Recalling the visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the leadership of the rector of the university, Elbrus Isayev, he emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between NSU and Al-al Beit University. In the framework of this cooperation, the work done in the direction of teacher and student exchange, implementation of joint research projects, as well as the involvement of Jordanian professors in the teaching process was brought to attention. The vice-rector added that such meetings with well-known personalities at the university are an important contribution to the development of students' outlook and professional knowledge.

Then the researcher and collector Muhammad Al-Baghdadi made a presentation on "In the footsteps of the cultural heritage of Western Azerbaijan". The guest spoke about the rich material and spiritual heritage of Western Azerbaijan, talking about ancient carpets, antiques, samples of metal crafts and textiles. He noted that this heritage is reflected both in archaeological monuments and in traditions passed down from generation to generation.  Mohammed Al-Baghdadi also shared with the audience interesting facts about the historical identity of the region through photos of ancient coins and medals. In particular, in 1828, a gold medal depicting the city of Yerevan and Mount Ağrı in its background was noted. He said that although numerous domes and minarets of the city are reflected in the medal, there is no church or symbol of the cross. This is valued as a historical proof of the Muslim identity of Yerevan at that time.

The meeting ended with the foreign teacher invited from Jordan and the event participants exchanging ideas on the cultural heritage of Western Azerbaijan, as well as answering questions. height="300">
