A memorandum of understanding was signed between Nakhchivan State University and another prestigious Chinese university

On July 13, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Nakhchivan State University and Urumqi Vocational University of the People's Republic of China (Urumqi Vocational University), which envisages the development of cooperation in the fields of education, science and innovation. The signing ceremony was held in an online format.

According to the document, the parties agreed to implement joint scientific research projects in areas of mutual interest, to expand cooperation in the direction of teaching and scientific activities, and to organize the exchange of teachers, students and administrative staff.

The memorandum of understanding envisages the development of opportunities for cooperation in the fields of logistics, tourism, artificial intelligence, digital media, art, medicine, new energy and production. According to the document, the parties will work together towards the development and implementation of joint academic programs and double degree projects, including bachelor's programs based on the "3+1" model.

Within the framework of the memorandum, it is planned to organize industry-oriented experiences, summer schools and practical training programs, increase the mobility of students and academic staff, implement exchange programs and develop joint teaching and research activities.

Also, the creation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center and development, conducting joint research in this field, conducting trainings, creating educational programs on Chinese language and culture, and expanding cultural relations are also reflected in the document.

In addition, the parties have agreed on the organization of joint seminars, conferences and short-term courses, exchange of scientific and academic publications, implementation of courses in hybrid format (online and face-to-face), creation of opportunities for mutual use of scientific research and educational resources.

It should be noted that the signed the memorandum of understanding will make an important contribution to the further expansion of relations between twin cities of Nakhchivan and Urumqi. Speaking at the event, President of Urumqi Vocational University Tang Xiaobing said that the document signed today lays the foundation for long-term and stable cooperative relations between the two universities. Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is one of the important junctions of the ancient Silk Road and one of China's strategic partners, Tang Xiaobing noted that the developing relations between the two countries create wide opportunities for cooperation between higher education institutions, and spoke about the importance of joint activities in the fields of education, culture and exchange.

Nakhchivan State University Rector Elbrus Isayev said that in April of this year, a delegation of Nakhchivan State University visited Urumqi Vocational University, during those meetings joint scientific research, student and teacher exchange, Chinese language He noted that discussions were held on education and other areas. He emphasized that the signed memorandum of understanding marks the beginning of a new phase of cooperation between the two universities.
