A memorandum on cooperation was signed between Nakhchivan State University and the National Artificial Intelligence Center.
On December 20, a meeting was held with the leadership of the National Artificial Intelligence Center at Nakhchivan State University. At the meeting, a wide range of ideas were exchanged on the possibilities of mutual cooperation in the fields of education, research and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
Nakhchivan State University Rector Elbrus Isayev emphasized the strategic importance of such meetings and said that in the future, the creation of artificial intelligence centers in this higher education institution, as well as the expansion of digitization, are among the main priorities.
At the meeting, it was announced that there is great interest in the teaching of elective subjects related to artificial intelligence, and at the initial stage, it is planned to prepare and implement teaching programs and syllabuses for both bachelor's and master's degrees in this direction. it is expected to carry out works related to the application of technologies.
In his speech, the rector pointed out that students are adapting to the field of artificial intelligence faster and highlighted the importance of training professionals in this field.
Elbrus Isayev said that foreign students from 22 countries of the world study at Nakhchivan State University. For this reason, in the future, the establishment of systematic programs according to international standards has been defined as the main goal.
Cooperation between Nakhchivan State University and the Academy of Artificial Intelligence, forming a joint structure, holding the next international artificial intelligence conference and providing support in this direction is considered a priority.
Director of the National Artificial Intelligence Center, Tuncay Bagirov, about the center's activities gave detailed information. He said that the center operates in four main directions and is interested in playing the role of a bridge between Nakhchivan State University and the National Artificial Intelligence Center. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the infrastructure, training specialists, conducting joint research and expanding relations.
Tuncay Bagirov spoke about the advantages of the "Smart Office" model and said that experts in the field of artificial intelligence will be involved, and support for programs and projects will be provided.
It was emphasized that NSU students will join the base of the National Center for Artificial Intelligence, full support will be given to outstanding and successful students.
In particular, it was emphasized that the applications of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine are promising and that the university has enough potential to become an innovation center. and it was stated that they are ready for full support in this direction.
During the event, it was emphasized that opportunities such as dual diploma programs, IELTS and SAT centers, as well as international book database contribute to the socio-economic development of the autonomous republic.
