A nostalgic evening called "Voice of the Past" was organized at NSU
Nostalgic concert program called "Voice of the Past" was held at the presentation of "Turan" pop ensemble at Nakhchivan State University. The concert, under the artistic direction of Sarkhan Abdullayev and the moderator of Gunay Mammadova, featured unforgettable works by popular composers and performers of Azerbaijani music.
At night, Ogtay Kazimi's "O life, you are so strange" and "Gaytar's love", Emin Sabitoglu's "Take my smiles" and "Baghishla", Tofiq Guliyev's "A flower landed on my window", Elsa Ibrahimova's "They would bring back my past days", Nushaba Muradova's "Listen to me, my love", Vagif Mustafazade's "Yollar", Sarkhan Sarkhan's "My delayed love", Eldar Mansurov's "Bayatilar" and Muslim Magomayev's "Azerbaijan" were performed.
The main feature of the project was that live performers performed on the same stage with archival recordings of famous artists and accompanied the musical numbers. This approach was of special importance both in terms of preserving the national musical heritage and passing it on to the new generation, and demanded high professionalism and precision from the performers. Because even the smallest time difference during the accompaniment can affect the musical harmony.
It is reported that although certain projects in this format are implemented in the world, the implementation of such a large-scale project presented in the form of a whole concert program is considered the first in Azerbaijan. From this point of view, "Voice of the Past" was not only a nostalgic concert, but also a presentation of a new creative approach. It was noted that it is of particular importance to preserve the national musical heritage, to make classical art samples popular with the younger generation, and to organize such cultural projects in the university environment. align="right">Media and Public Relations Chair of NDU
