A report on the results of the international summer experience program held in Turkey at NSU was heard
A reporting event was held at Nakhchivan State University, dedicated to the results of the international summer internship program that students of the Faculty of Medicine passed in leading higher medical educational institutions of Turkey.
Rector of the university, Elbrus Isayev, who opened the event with an introduction, said that the international summer internship program on July 6-17, 2026 within the framework of the implementation of the cooperation agreements and mutual understanding memorandums in force between Nakhchivan State University and the partner universities of the Republic of Turkey, as well as the "State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027" was successfully implemented. The rector met with the participants of the program and exchanged ideas on the results of the experience, the suggestions of the students and the further improvement of the program in the future. Elbrus Isayev emphasized the importance of international internship programs in strengthening students' professional training, strengthening theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and mastering international medical experience. made presentations and gave detailed information about the clinical preparation process of the students, the practical skills they gained and the experience they gained.
It was noted that within the program, 221 students studying Medicine, Military medicine, Medicine (teaching in English), Medical SABAH groups, Dentistry, Public health, Pharmacy and Psychology majors of the university students, as well as 21 faculty members participated in internship and professional development programs at 6 prestigious higher medical educational institutions in Turkey.
During the summer internship, the participants underwent practical training in therapy, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, resuscitation, emergency care and other clinical departments, followed the daily activities of doctors, and observed various participated in medical procedures and mastered modern diagnostic and treatment methods. In addition, they became familiar with the international academic environment and the organization of the Turkish healthcare system. At the end of the program, the participants were presented with certificates confirming that they had successfully completed the summer experience.
Students speaking at the report event said that the international summer experience played an important role in their professional development. It was pointed out that the theoretical knowledge they gained at Nakhchivan State University was supplemented with practical skills in an international clinical environment, which created an opportunity to closely study a different healthcare system and gain new experience. The students expressed their gratitude to the university management for the continuous organization of such programs and emphasized the importance of continuing the project in the coming years. In addition to being one of the important directions of the university's internationalization strategy, such internship programs abroad make an important contribution to the training of highly qualified and competitive medical specialists.
