A round table on "Academician Zarifa Aliyeva -103" was held at NSU

A round table dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Zarifa Aliyeva was organized at the Medical Faculty of Nakhchivan State University.

Deputy Dean of the Faculty Shafiga Süleymanova She said that Zarifa Aliyeva wrote her name in golden letters in the annals of science as the first female academician-ophthalmologist in the history of Azerbaijan, gained a high reputation not only as a scientist, but also as an educator and public figure, and made important contributions to the development of the national health system and the training of qualified personnel.

Clinical Sciences and Military Medicine Department Etibar Bababeyli, Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine, and Professor Isa Abdullayev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, spoke about the scientific achievements of Zarifa Aliyeva. It was noted that academician Zarifa Aliyeva lived a meaningful and honorable life as a true intellectual with rich moral values. A specialized scientific research laboratory was established as the first research base of the school of ophthalmology in Azerbaijan on the initiative of a scientist who made important contributions to the development of the field of medicine, especially ophthalmology in our country with his scientific activity.
