An international event was held at NSU within the DIRNA project

                An international seminar and training program was organized at Nakhchivan State University within the framework of the "Development of Research Potential in Azerbaijan through the Network of Institutional Repositories" (DIRNA) project, implemented within the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

Emphasizing that today is the last seminar of the project, the rector also spoke about the work done within the project and the results achieved.

Italian experts Francesco Targuni and Graza Di Bartolomeo gave presentations on "Formation and management of electronic collections in digital libraries" at the hybrid seminar.

In the next session, the topic of open access and institutional repositories was discussed based on the experience of partners from Finland. The session provided detailed information on the role of open access policy in daily repository management, the application of open science, the importance of metadata management, as well as the opportunities created by artificial intelligence and new technologies in this field.

Later, a musical program was presented at the Faculty of Arts of Nakhchivan State University. The event continued with a special session dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Khazar University. A panel discussion was held with the participation of the rectors of the university, and views were exchanged on international cooperation in higher education, open science policy and prospects for the development of scientific activity.

On the second day of the draft, Gültekin Gurdal, a specialist from Turkey, made a presentation on "Revolution in Academic Publishing: Open Access and Artificial Intelligence". Later, he informed the participants about international experience and modern approaches with a report on "Metadata quality and international standards".

After that, a training session was held on "Strengthening Research: From Open Access to Data Management" with the participation of Gültekin Gürdal, Begüm Yavuz and Gönül Kafali Jan. Open access policy, scientific data management, application of metadata standards and the role of digital solutions in research activities were widely discussed in the session.

 

 

It should be noted that the DIRNA project aims to create a network of open access institutional repositories in Azerbaijani universities, effectively manage scientific results and increase the quality of research activities.
