International Teachers' Day was celebrated at NSU

An event was held at Nakhchivan State University on the occasion of October 5 - International Teachers' Day.

First of all, an exhibition of 45 works of art dedicated to the work of teachers of the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts, studying in the fields of "Fine Art Teaching" and "Painting" was viewed. Creative examples of students were shown at the exhibition.

At the event, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who died for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute's silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played. Later, a video dedicated to the International Teachers' Day was shown.

NSU Rector Elbrus Isayev, who opened the event with an introductory speech, congratulated the faculty on the occasion of the International Teachers' Day. The rector emphasized the important role of the teaching profession in the development of the society and in the formation of an educated and patriotic young generation. Noting that the great leader Heydar Aliyev's high value on the work of teachers has been successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, the rector said that the state's attention and concern for education is also reflected in the development of Nakhchivan State University.

As a continuation of this attention, the Rector noted that it is planned to increase the salaries of university employees by 15 percent. He said that this step serves to improve the social well-being of university employees and to express the value given to their work.

Doctor of pedagogic sciences, Honored teacher of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Professor Ismayil Aliyev, Doctor of History, Corresponding member of ANAS, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Professor Hajifakhraddin Safarli and head teacher of "European Languages" department Kovsar Abbasova spoke at the event. In the speeches, the traditions of teaching activity, the role of educators in the development of education and science, the responsibility of teachers in the education of the young generation, and the state's care for teacher labor were discussed.

Huseyn Tahirov, the chairman of the Student Youth Organization, spoke about the responsibility and moral value of the teaching profession and the role of teachers in shaping the future activities of students.

In the artistic part of the event, musical numbers performed by teachers and students of the Faculty of Arts of Nakhchivan State University were presented. The artistic program continued with the accompaniment of the faculty's ensemble.

As part of the program, E. Ibrahimova's "I can't stand it anymore", A. Taghiyev's "Your laughter", as well as P. Bulbuloglu's "Happy Azerbaijan" were performed. In addition, the classification "Bayati-Shiraz", the folk song "Yana-yana kul med" and the song "Ana" by E.Imanov were performed.  

The event created a good mood among the participants.
