March 8 - International Women's Day was celebrated at Nakhchivan State University

Before the event, there was a viewing of the exhibition of handicrafts of female students of the Faculty of Arts. In total, 70 works of art, including 50 oil paints on canvas, 20 examples of decorative applied art  , were displayed at the exhibition. The collective and students of the college participated.  

Vice Chancellor of the University for Science and Innovation Elsever Asadov congratulated all the women on the occasion of the significant day. He emphasized that National leader Heydar Aliyev, who laid the foundation of the state women's policy in our country, attached special importance to the development of social and political activity of Azerbaijani women. He said that 50 percent of the academic staff working at the university are women, and a teaching strategy that promotes gender equality and sensitivity in the field of education is applied. At the same time, the vice-rector drew attention to the fact that women are represented in the management team of the university and the achievements of female teachers, emphasizing that these are another indicator of women's success. Elsever Asadov informed the participants of the event that according to the relevant order of Rector Elbrus Isayev, monetary awards were determined for all female employees of the university on the occasion of International Women's Day.

The speeches were then listened to. The head of the piano department, professor Sayeda Mammadova about the achievements of women in the field of art, the head of the chair of journalism and literature of foreign countries, PhD in philology, associate professor Shahla Shiraliyeva about the services of women in the history of the national press, land reclamation and ecological engineering head teacher of the chair Leyla Ibrahimova talked about the contributions of Azerbaijani women to society. Then the artistic part of the event took place. The artistic part, which started with the pantomime, continued with the performances of the newly created instrumental ensemble "Youth", the vocal group "Belkanto", the Saz group of the Nakhchivan College of Music. the songs created a pleasant atmosphere.

It should be noted that the artistic director of the concert is Gulkhara Ahmadova, the Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the artistic director of the "Youth" instrumental ensemble is Sahil Gasimov, a student of folk instruments.
