Innovation-oriented competition "Silk Road IoT Hackathon 2026" was successfully concluded at Nakhchivan State University. The hackathon organized within the framework of the Silk Road concept was remembered as a 2-day intensive program focused on the development of innovative technological solutions in the fields of transport, logistics and urban infrastructure.

During the event, the participating teams worked on projects in various directions: intelligent transport systems, traffic management, logistics and cargo tracking technologies, energy & environment IoT solutions, as well as smart developed functional IoT prototypes in the fields of city and infrastructure technologies.

The prepared projects were presented in the form of real working prototypes and demonstrated in front of the judges with a live demo. This showed the ability of the participants to come up with not only ideas, but also applicable technological products.

According to the results of the hackathon with the participation of 9 teams and more than 40 students, SolutionSquad placed in the first place with a project designed to prevent congestion and traffic jams in the city by changing the traffic rules through traffic lights during peak hours. The Stevee team with a machine prototype that implements the process of plowing, irrigating and planting the soil in an agricultural area in a more efficient way was awarded the 2nd place, and the Redemy team, which came up with a project that measures passenger data for the metropolitan system and directs the movement of trains according to those data, was awarded the 3rd place.

"Silk Road IoT Hackathon 2026" is important in terms of developing students' innovative thinking skills, strengthening teamwork and forming technological approaches to real problems.
