Students of Nakhchivan secondary schools will participate in PISA 2025 – International Student Assessment Study for the first time this year.

On April 10, an educational meeting was held in Nakhchivan with students who will participate in the PISA 2025 - International Student Assessment Study for the first time.

Nakhchivan International The students of Nakhchivan secondary schools No. 7, 15, 17, Nakhchivan Girls' Lyceum, Nakhchivan Garrison secondary school, and English-oriented high school under NSU participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, the Minister of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Elkhan Najafov informed the participants that the comprehensive schools of our country have been participating in the PISA-International Student Assessment Survey since 2018. Secondary schools of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will participate in this research for the first time this year. It was noted that the participation of 328 schoolchildren from 12 educational institutions of the autonomous republic is planned. The Minister of Education wished success to the students participating in the competition.   

Elnur Aliyev, Acting Director of the Education Institute of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said that PISA is aimed at assessing the knowledge and skills of 15-year-old students in general educational institutions in reading, mathematics, natural sciences and creative thinking, and at the same time determining their ability to apply them in real life. It is an international assessment study conducted every 3 years by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The implementation of the research in our country will be organized by the Institute of Education, and more than 8 thousand students will participate in the research. Noting that students from 91 countries will participate in this program this year, Elnur Aliyev gave the schoolchildren extensive information about the conditions, rules, questions used, and the rules for answering questions.
