The 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine of NSU was celebrated with a solemn ceremony

Within the framework of the anniversary, the I Republican scientific conference "Medical Education: advanced practices and innovations" and the International Scientific-practical conference "Multidisciplinary Approaches to Surgical and Obstetric-Gynecological Problems" were held.

On May 29, the opening event of the 1st Republican scientific conference "Medical Education: advanced practices and innovations" and "Multidisciplinary Approaches to Surgical and Obstetric-Gynecological Problems" International scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine at Nakhchivan State University took place.

Before the event, the participants of the conference laid flowers in front of the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, paid tribute to his dear memory, and visited the museum named after the Great Leader.

The conferences were jointly organized by Nakhchivan State University, Azerbaijan Medical University, Karabakh University, Samarkand State Medical University, Aziz Aliyev Institute for the Advancement of Doctors of Azerbaijan. About 120 highly qualified doctors-specialists from the Republic of Turkey and different regions of Azerbaijan participated in the event.

First, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who died for the freedom of our land was commemorated with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Rector Elbrus Isayev, who opened the event with an introductory speech, greeted the conference participants and thanked the guests for their participation in the remarkable calendar.  The Rector assessed the creation of the Faculty of Medicine at Nakhchivan State University as an important turning point in the development of healthcare in the autonomous republic. It was reported that with the initiative and support of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who took into account the necessary needs of medical personnel in the health system of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the foundation of basic higher medical education was laid at the Nakhchivan State University in the 1999-2000 academic year, and great and irreplaceable trust was shown to the university. The Rector spoke about the faculty's activities and achievements, and called the training of qualified medical personnel for the healthcare of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic the main goal of the faculty's establishment. Elbrus Isayev, who noted that more than a thousand doctors have graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, is currently at the Faculty of Medicine  He pointed out that more than 2,000 students study in 9 specialties, including the Azerbaijani and English departments of SABAH groups: "Since 2012, residency training has been started at the Faculty of Medicine, and today there are 33 specialties at the faculty  88 residents are studying. In total, the number of residency graduates has reached 109 people. Student and resident  226 of the graduates were citizens of foreign countries.

Rector Elbrus Isayev stated that the application of medical science programs at Nakhchivan State University was determined as one of the priority directions by the decree of the head of the country on the "State Program for the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027" dated June 5, 2023, and on this basis, he gave detailed information about the Medical campus to be established at the university. In connection with the implementation of the Rector's Order, he emphasized that in the 2024-2025 academic year, 21 students were admitted to Nakhchivan State University through a competition, and for the first time among the country's universities, SABAH groups were created for the specialty "Medicine".

Various within the framework of Elbrus Isayev jubilee event  conferences, seminars,  said that workshops, masterclasses, book presentations were organized, and at the end of his speech, he congratulated everyone on the occasion of the anniversary, and wished productive discussions and scientific achievements to the conference participants.

Then the Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University, Professor Geray Geraybeyli spoke. It was emphasized that the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at Nakhchivan State University 25 years ago was a historical event calculated for the future. Today, in a fully formed medical school,  educational programs reflecting the field of modern medicine  is carried out. Rector Geray Geraybeyli noted that the relations between Azerbaijan Medical University and NSU were formalized with the Memorandum of Cooperation and continued with joint projects.  said that it has developed and strengthened, On behalf of AMU  presented a gift to rector Elbrus Isayev.

 Mr. Nazim Gasimov, the rector of the Aziz Aliyev Azerbaijan State Medical Training Institute, expressed his satisfaction with the participation in the conference and talked about the activity of the Medical Faculty in the advanced structure. He emphasized that it is important to organize teaching in the faculty in the form of classroom lessons, clinical preparation and clinical lessons. Nazim Gasimov made it more memorable to cover the significant calendar in the framework of conferences under the title of current topics  said that it would happen, wished success and presented a gift to rector Elbrus Isayev.

 Rector of Samarkand State Medical University, professor Jasur Rzayev, who made a video presentation congratulated on the anniversary, He expressed that the cooperation with NSU always opens the way for innovative activities.

 In his speech, the director of Karabakh University clinic, Mr. Samir Babayev, expressed his gratitude for the invitation and highly appreciated the establishment of cooperation with NSU, the cooperation of the Faculty of Medicine in sharing the experiences gained over 25 years, and expressed his satisfaction with the participation in the event.

After the speeches The event continued with the presentation of honorary titles to the employees of the Medical Faculty of Nakhchivan State University.

At the same time  Nakhchivan State University Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, Associate Professor Elsever Asadova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Agriculture of Nakhchivan State University, Doctor of Philosophy in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Bahruz Mammadova Honorary title of Honored teacher of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Matlab Ibrahimova, associate professor of the Chair of Clinical Sciences and Military Medicine of Nakhchivan State University, Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine, and Zaur Huseynova, head teacher of the Chair of Stomatology of Nakhchivan State University, doctor-dentist Zaur Huseynova, were presented with the badges of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic "For meritorious work".   

Later, Rector Elbrus Isayev gave thanks plaques and gifts to the guests for their support to the development of medical education in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

After the official part of the conference was over, the artistic part prepared with the participation of the art collective of Nakhchivan State University and the students of the Faculty of Medicine was presented.

After the opening event, the conference was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine at Nakhchivan State University "Medical Education: Advanced Practices and Innovations" 1st Republican scientific conference, 23 articles presented by 38 authors from 10 institutions in 3 panels in 3 areas section meetings were held. At the International Scientific-Practical Conference "Multidisciplinary Approaches to Surgical and Obstetric-Gynecological Problems" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Medical University, 87 articles presented by 92 speakers from 27 scientific-educational institutions on 7 panels were heard at the section meetings.

It should be noted that within the framework of the conference, free medical actions were organized by 25 doctors of various specialties in 3 hospitals of Nakhchivan MR - Perinatal Center of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Nakhchivan Health Center and Reference Nakhchivan Medical Center on May 29-30.
