The opening ceremony of the 4th Republican Scientific Conference on "Actual problems of the contemporary Azerbaijani language" was held at Nakhchivan State University.

The conference was organized by Nakhchivan State University, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Baku Slavic University, Azerbaijan University of Languages and ANAS Nakhchivan branch in partnership.

First, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who died for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence. Then the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev, who opened the event with an introduction, said in his speech that the main purpose of this conference is to organize a scientific discussion of the theoretical and practical issues encountered in the modern development stage of the Azerbaijani language, as well as the results of modern research, to exchange scientific opinions. and researchers.

The rector, drawing attention to President Ilham Aliyev's Decree on the protection of the purity of the Azerbaijani language and further improvement of the use of the state language, spoke about the main tasks and tasks to be done in this direction.

Elbrus Isayev drew attention to important issues such as applying innovative approaches in teaching the Azerbaijani language, creating new opportunities for young people in connection with the use of the mother tongue in digital resources, working on texts that protect the norms of the Azerbaijani language, creating new programs for higher and general education schools, conducting evaluation methods based on new criteria.

Chairman of the Nakhchivan Chair of ANAS, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev said that a lot of work has been spent on the formation of the Azerbaijani language over the centuries.
