The opening ceremony of the "Constitution Marathon" project was held

In connection with the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty", the "Constitution Marathon" project was launched with the joint organization of the Supreme Court of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan and Nakhchivan State University.  Asadov noted that 2025 was declared the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" by the Decree of the head of state, Ilham Aliyev, and within this framework, Nakhchivan State University continues to implement the plan of events planned on various topics together with a number of organizations, ministries, and committees of the autonomous republic. It was said that this year is significant because the 30th anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution and the 5th anniversary of our Victory in the Patriotic War are celebrated. Nakhchivan State University, as one of the ideological centers defending our statehood, will continue its activities throughout the year with the participation of teachers and students. title="Ali Allahverdiyev profile">Ali Allahverdiyev spoke and said that the long-term mutual relations between the Supreme Court and the University were further developed with the memorandum of understanding on joint cooperation signed between the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Nakhchivan State University in 2023. Law students of the university are regularly involved in large-scale projects, trainings and practice programs in courts, scientific-practical conferences, seminars, training courses, lectures and meetings are held within the framework of cooperation. Ali Allahverdiyev noted that the declaration of 2025 as the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" by the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is an important event for the legal community. The goal of the "Constitutional Marathon" project is to achieve wide dissemination of the importance of the Constitution and constitutional values. brought to the attention of the participants the measures planned for one stage.

The event continued with panel discussions with the participation of Aziz Gasimov, a teacher of the "General Law" chair of Nakhchivan State University, Yunis Khalilov, a teacher of that department and an employee of the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the discussions, opinions were expressed about the possible effects of the new realities created by digitalization on legal relations. 

Let us note that the goal of the project, which will last a month in separate stages, is to instill constitutional values in students, as well as to develop skills such as critical thinking, legal thinking, leadership and teamwork, decision-making, and problem solving.
