The opening ceremony of the scientific-practical conference on "Modern Challenges and Innovativeness in Science" was held at NSU within the "Science Month 2026" dedicated to March 27 - Science Day.

Before the event, there was a viewing of the exhibition consisting of dissertations, monographs and methodical materials of graduate students.

Later, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who died for the freedom of our land was commemorated with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

The Rector of the University, Elbrus Isayev, said in his speech that in modern times, science has already become the main power factor, and unlike previous times, science is the leading force of development today. The Rector emphasized the importance of forming new scientific approaches, recalling the calls of the head of the country regarding the protection of the national mentality, multiculturalism, artificial intelligence and digitalization strategy.

At the end of his speech, Elbrus Isayev gave a number of recommendations to young people about science and congratulated those engaged in science and wished them new scientific achievements.

Vice Rector for Science and Innovation Elsever Asadov Speaking on the topic "Modern challenges in science: new strategies and trends", he spoke about the changes in the global scientific environment, the importance of the innovation-based development model and the digital transformation of science. talked about the effect. The vice-rector also informed about the work done in the direction of increasing the quality of scientific research, promoting innovative projects and supporting the potential of young researchers at the university.

Director of the Master's and Doctorate Center Chapay Guliyev gave a speech on "Search for quality, sustainability, responsibility and honesty in science", and Eltun Ibrahimov, head of the "Economics and Marketing" department, gave a speech on "Science and business environment: industry-based research". Yusif Mirzazadeh, the chairman of the Student Scientific Society, in turn, shared his views on "current realities, new challenges and reform directions in student scientific research". Ramiz Mirishli's "I have broken a heart" and other musical numbers were played.

Let's note that the conference, which will last from March 4 to 27, will be discussed in 4 panels on various topics. At the same time, it is planned to organize academic trainings on the development of scientific research skills within the framework of "Science Month".
