The presentation of the book of Professor Nadir Mammadli was held at NSU

In the Scientific Library of Nakhchivan State University, the presentation ceremony of the book entitled "The 1st Turkological Congress of 1926 - on historical grounds, in archival documents, in the national press" authored by Professor Nadir Mammadli, director of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS, was held. 

The rector also drew attention to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated October 22, 2025 regarding the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress and emphasized the importance of the work done in this direction.

Elbrus Isayev said that the publication is important in terms of deeper study of the historical nature of the First Turkological Congress, its ideological and scientific foundations.

Corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of philological sciences, professor Abulfaz Guliyev, giving detailed information about the book, noted that the historical context of the congress, archival documents that have not been studied for many years, and national press materials were presented in chronological order.

According to him, the book contains protocols, report and speech texts, official telegrams, as well as documents related to various commissions, and these materials are accompanied by analytical comments. title="Sadaqat Hasanova profile">Sadaqat Hasanova and associate professor Zulfiyya Ismayil spoke about the scientific importance of the book.

It is noted that in the publication consisting of three chapters, the First Turkological Congress is presented as an important platform where the development of Turkish languages, the change of the writing system and the issues of cultural integration are discussed in the Soviet space.

The historical-functional essence of the congress and its impact on the development of Turkology were systematically investigated in the book. At the end, the author Nadir Mammadli expressed his gratitude to the university administration and participants for organizing the event.

The professor concluded his speech with these words: "I wish that the second congress will take place in the future and our brothers from the Turkic-speaking peoples will speak with these words: "We declare the second Turkological Congress open. Everyone is welcome."
