A dual degree program will be implemented between Nakhchivan State University and Memar Sinan University of Fine Arts within the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture"

      An agreement was reached between Nakhchivan State University and Memar Sinan University of Fine Arts on the implementation of a dual diploma master's program on the specialty "Sustainable urban development and regional planning". In this regard, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two higher educational institutions.

The memorandum was signed by NSU Rector Elbrus Isayev and Memar Sinan University of Fine Arts Rector Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu. According to the document, the parties will cooperate on a large scale in the fields of architecture and art, and will implement joint projects and academic initiatives. At the same time, at a time when the 900th anniversary of Memar Ajamin, a prominent representative of the Azerbaijani school of architecture, the realization of such an initiative has a symbolic and historical meaning.

Memar Sinan Fine Arts University, which was founded in 1882 under the name "Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi", is known as Turkey's first art university. The university has a deep scientific tradition in the fields of architecture, fine arts, design and urban planning, a strong faculty and international academic relations.

The higher education institution distinguished by its historical campus, rich academic school and creative environment has played an important role in the formation of architectural education in Turkey and is still considered one of the most prestigious art universities in the region.

In Nakhchivan State University, the directions of architecture and art have entered the stage of rapid development in recent years. The university has created a modern educational infrastructure in the fields of architecture, design, and fine arts, renovated studios and workshops, and created ample opportunities for the development of students' creative potential. The university also prioritizes interdisciplinary research and innovative approaches.

One ​​of the main initiatives of the cooperation is the "Memar Ajami - Mimar Sinan Architecture Park" project. The project aims to combine the legacy of two outstanding representatives of the Azerbaijani and Turkish schools of architecture - Memar Acami and Memar Sina - in a single conceptual space. This initiative will serve the expression of shared historical and cultural values at the architectural level.

According to the protocol, the professors of Memar Sinan University of Fine Arts will be invited to NSU, and joint symposia, conferences, exhibitions, short-term courses and seminars will be organized in the areas of architecture, fine arts, urban planning and interdisciplinary research.

In the signing ceremony, mutual exchange of students and professors was emphasized as one of the main directions of cooperation.
