NSU Enhances University–Labour Market Links through Partnership with Azerishiq OJSC


On 22 July, a meeting was held between Nakhchivan State University and Azerishiq OJSC. The meeting was attended by Elbrus Isayev, Rector of Nakhchivan State University; Khalid Tahmazov, Advisor to the Chairman of Azerishiq OJSC; Chingiz Ibadov, Deputy Director of the Training and Innovation Center of Azerishiq OJSC; Nemat Gasimov, Head of the Nakhchivan Regional Electric Power Network of Azerishiq OJSC; as well as members of the university’s senior management. Within the framework of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between Nakhchivan State University and Azerishiq OJSC. The agreement предусматриes the organization of industrial internships for NSU students at Azerishiq OJSC, the implementation of joint courses and training programs for electrical engineering specializations, the realization of joint scientific and technical projects, and the opportunity for academic staff to benefit from research facilities within Azerishiq OJSC. This cooperation reflects Nakhchivan State University’s strong commitment to strengthening university–labour market relations, ensuring that academic programs are aligned with real-sector needs. In this context, the partnership is regarded as one of the most powerful and tangible impacts of the Erasmus+ ENGAGE Project, which aims to enhance employability, entrepreneurial thinking, and industry-oriented education. Rector Elbrus Isayev described the cooperation agreement as an important and successful starting point for long-term partnership. He provided information on the university’s overall activities, international cooperation, and the involvement of foreign professors in teaching. The Rector also spoke about the NSU Technology Park, which is expected to play a key role in expanding university–industry collaboration and implementing innovative projects. Emphasizing the university’s focus on the energy sector, Rector Isayev noted that international scientific conferences in the field of energy are regularly organized at NSU and that research activities in this area are ongoing. He also highlighted that students studying Electrical Power Engineering participate in industrial internships abroad, noting that in the previous year students completed internships at Karadeniz Technical University (Türkiye), and in earlier years in Germany and Italy.
